Sunnyfield Disability Services were delighted to receive a Community Building Partnership Grant of over $9,000 from local MP Prue Car to construct a shade sail and provide outdoor protection at their Australian Disability Enterprises site in Mt Druitt.

“I’m thrilled to have delivered grant funding for this project through the Londonderry Community Building Partnership. The shade sail will be a valued addition heading into summer”, said Prue Car.

Peter has been with Sunnyfield for 42 years and loves his job at Mt Druitt. He is a general all round handyman, always looking out for everyone’s safety and wellbeing on the job and always willing to help others complete tasks. When asked about the new shade sail, Peter said “it has made it much cooler and nicer to sit outside now. Thank you to the company for installing it”.

The Mt Druitt site provides meaningful employment for 58 people with disability. Sunnyfield support people to learn new life skills, gain confidence, earn a wage and develop career opportunities all in the context of a commercial environment.
